This Refund & Cancellation Policy (“Policy”) governs all cancellations, refunds, and booking modifications made through BookaStay Naija (“Platform”), operated by BOOKASTAYNAIJA LTD.
By making a booking on the Platform, you agree to this Policy.
1. GENERAL POLICY
- All bookings are subject to the cancellation terms outlined below
- Refunds are processed only through the Platform
- BookaStay Naija reserves the right to make the final decision on all refund requests
2. GUEST CANCELLATIONS
2.1 Cancellation More Than 3 Days Before Check-In
- Guest receives 100% refund of the booking amount
2.2 Cancellation Within 3 Days of Check-In
- Guest receives 70% refund
- 20% is paid to the Host as compensation
- 10% is retained by BookaStay Naija as a service fee
2.3 No-Show or Cancellation After Check-In
- No refund will be issued
- Full booking amount is forfeited
3. HOST CANCELLATIONS
If a Host cancels a confirmed booking:
- Guest receives a 100% full refund
- BookaStay Naija may:
- Assist the Guest in booking an alternative property on the Platform
- Remove or suspend the Host’s listing
Repeated cancellations by a Host may result in permanent removal from the Platform.
4. PLATFORM-INITIATED CANCELLATIONS
BookaStay Naija reserves the right to cancel bookings where necessary, including but not limited to:
- Suspected fraud or security concerns
- Listing inaccuracies or misrepresentation
- Safety risks
In such cases:
- Guest will receive a full refund
- Where possible, we may assist with rebooking
5. MID-STAY CANCELLATIONS
Once a Guest has checked in:
- No refunds will be issued for unused nights
- Exceptions may be made at the sole discretion of BookaStay Naija in verified cases (e.g., property issues)
6. REFUND ELIGIBILITY FOR PROPERTY ISSUES
Guests may be eligible for a refund if:
- The property is significantly different from the listing
- The property is unsafe or unfit for stay
- The Host fails to provide access
Important:
- Issues must be reported within 3 hours of check-in
- Supporting evidence (photos/videos) may be required
Failure to report within this timeframe may result in denial of refund.
7. REFUND METHOD & TIMELINE
- Refunds will be processed using the original payment method
- Processing time: 7–14 business days depending on payment provider
BookaStay Naija is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment processors.
8. NON-REFUNDABLE ITEMS
The following are non-refundable:
- Service fees (where applicable after booking completion)
- No-show bookings
- Bookings cancelled after check-in
9. FORCE MAJEURE
Refunds for events beyond reasonable control (e.g., natural disasters, government restrictions) will be handled at the sole discretion of BookaStay Naija.
10. MODIFICATIONS
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time.
Updated versions will be posted on the Platform, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
